Villa Lata Liana is a brand new villa complex of two private luxury Bali villas located just minutes from the beach and close to Seminyak’s popular Gado-Gado restaurant. The two villas can be enjoyed exclusively or together. If required, the two villas (Lataliana I & Lataliana II) can be rented at the same time to provide guests with a seven-bedroom renting option.

Built on a large tree-lined plot, Lataliana comprises a charming two-bedroom villa featuring a traditional Balinese lumbung, and a majestic five-bedroom villa. Accessed from a private entrance off a quiet leafy street, the two villas enjoy first class service from an experienced team of staff, gourmet cuisine, extensive facilities and round the clock security.

Villa Lata Liana Rooms

5 Bedrooms Villa
Lata liana I is a majestic five-bedroom villa, ideally situated in a quiet side street just 500 metres from popular Seminyak beach in south-west Bali, and within easy walking distance of some of the island’s most fashionable shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. The villa was built in 2011 and is part of an exclusive enclave of two villas complete with a dedicated on-site spa. If required, the two villas (Lata liana I & Lata liana II) can be rented at the same time to provide guests with a seven-bedroom renting option.

All five of Lata liana’s bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite-channel TVs and Blu-ray disc players. Each has its own unique character or color scheme – ranging from gold to pink to turquoise – and each is elegantly furnished with beds, cabinets, and chests fashioned from the recycled wood of a traditional sailing boat. Four bedrooms feature king-size beds (two of which can be converted to twins) while the smallest bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. The two master bedrooms have retractable mosquito nets around their beds. All five en-suite bathrooms are remarkably spacious; finished with non-slip acid marble floors, and fitted with twin washbasins, soaking tubs, and monsoon showers that are open to the sky in private walled courtyards or gardens. Even the old ship’s rum barrels have been used to create the vanity units in one of the bathrooms.

This exceptional property blends stylish modern architecture with custom-made furnishings crafted from the century-old recycled timbers of a traditional Indonesian phinisi schooner. With its spacious rooms, large free-form swimming pool, historic joglo balé pavilion, dazzling designer chandeliers, soothing antique water features and high-tech facilities, Lata liana I is classy and chic. It also presents an abundance of space, making it the perfect venue for weddings.

2 Bedroom Villa
Lataliana II’s main single-storey building stretches the full length of the garden like a Bornean longhouse, comprising the master bedroom with its ensuite bathroom, and an expansive open-plan living and dining room with a kitchenette at one end.

On the opposite side of the pool is a stand-alone two-storey building constructed in the architectural style of a traditional lumbung or rice granary with a distinctive bonnet-shaped roof. On the upper floor is a large bedroom, while the ground floor presents a tiny kitchenette and an indoor-outdoor bathroom. Built into the lumbung, sheltered by a roof and overlooking the pool, is an elevated, open-sided relaxation space.

Master bedroom
The spacious air-conditioned master bedroom has a non-slip acid marble floor and bay-shaped French windows that fold open to the swimming pool. Equipped with a satellite-channel TV, Blu-ray disc player, iPod dock and ceiling fan, the room is furnished with a king-size bed, reading lamps, and cabinets crafted from the recycled wood of an old phinisi schooner. The ceiling is fitted with runners that support an innovative retractable mosquito net, which forms a curtain around the bed. The large ensuite bathroom is light and airy, featuring a non-slip floor, twin washbasins, hanging and storage space, a freestanding bathtub for two, and a walk-in rain shower and toilet in separate cubicles, both of which open on one side to the fresh air.

Lumbung bedroom
Designed with children or teenagers in mind (but equally suitable for a family happy to share their space), the lumbung offers a fully air-conditioned, two-level bedroom that can comfortably accommodate six. Here, a king-size bed converts to a pair of twins, a double bed reminiscent of a ship’s berth is built into the wall, and two sofas (one of which provides two single mattresses) are positioned on a mezzanine accessed via a solid wooden ladder. The bedroom’s timber floor extends through sliding glass doors onto a wooden balcony overlooking the garden and pool and framed by the bonnet-shaped roof. The bedroom is equipped with a satellite-channel TV, Blu-ray disc player, iPod dock and ceiling fan.

The bathroom is located downstairs and fitted with a single washbasin and toilet, a non-slip floor, a unit with hanging and storage space, and a funky wall mirror that literally makes a splash with its water-splatter design. Glass doors lead to a pebble-floored private courtyard with an open-air rain shower featuring a terrazzo splashback in the shape of a surfboard. A tiny kitchenette on the ground floor is equipped with a fridge and sink.

Villa Staffs
Lataliana has a dedicated team of 22 staff serving the two villas within the enclave.
- Manager: Artini is Lataliana’s full-time manager; her job is to oversee and coordinate the staff and property, and to assist guests during their stay. She is on call 24 hours a day.
- Chefs: Rita manages the kitchen at Lataliana, leading a team of three chefs who will prepare daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, according to the wishes and whims of the guests.
- Butlers: Lataliana’s three butlers have undergone rigorous training in the finer points of etiquette. Their real skill is the ability to think on their feet, which means anticipating what guests want even before they know it themselves. Guests are given a mobile phone to summon a butler whenever required.
- Housekeepers: Three housekeepers attend to all of the daily cleaning and domestic duties at the two villas.
- Gardener/pool attendants: Three gardeners tend the garden and pool at Lataliana, working discretely to maintain high standards without disturbing the guests.
- Spa staff/masseuse: A team of fully-trained spa therapists at Lataliana’s onsite spa provide a range of spa and massage treatments, as well as manicures and pedicures.
- Security: Lataliana is kept safe and secure 24 hours a day by a team of four security guards working in shifts.

Dining

The villa offers a fixed price menu and a comprehensive list of wines, premium spirits, cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices and soft drinks. This makes meal ordering easy, but should guests require items that are not on the menu, Rita, the food and beverages manager, will be happy to accommodate any special requests or special diets. Dishes and drinks not listed on the menu are provided on a ‘cost’ basis with a 20 percent mark-up to cover the grocery shopping service. If guests require anything that is not on the menu they should notify the staff the evening before or over breakfast to allow for the shopping to be done in a timely fashion during the day.

- The Menu
Lataliana’s extensive and impressive menu lists à la carte and set breakfasts, plus a wide choice of soups, salads, ‘bites’, sandwiches and burgers, pasta dishes, pizzas, chicken and meat dishes, and desserts. Highly recommended international dishes include surf ‘n turf, grilled chicken kebab, snacks such as chicken quesadilla and zucchini fritters, and the chef’s sinful chocolate fondue cake. Romantic dinners for two can be accommodated with all the accoutrements of love, and there’s also a choice of four set dinners plus three set lunches for four guests (these need to be ordered one day in advance).

A stay at Lataliana presents a good opportunity to try some of Bali’s local fresh fish and seafood dishes as well as Indonesian favourites such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Indonesia’s famous beef curry known as rendang daging, or Pepes Ikan, which is minced fish baked in banana leaves. The chef can, of course, adjust the seasoning of the dishes to suit different palates.
